Our Mission in Ministry

To Equip Students with Skills for Living for Christ

Our job is to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”(Eph 4:12) One of our primary responsibilities is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in real ministry, both within the church and in the world.

To Reach Students with the Life-changing Truth of the Gospel

Our hope is that student’s lives will be touched by being a part of our ministry. As we reach out to the students within our church and seek to build solid relationships, our goal is to show them how powerfully the gospel impacts every part of our lives.

To Integrate Students into the Overall Ministry of the Church

Since it is inevitable that students will eventually graduate from our youth ministry and transition into other parts of the body, we seek to make that transition as natural as possible. In order to help them feel connected to the body of the church we seek to integrate our youth into other ministries of our church. This helps them become familiar with the overall work of the church as well as to explore where they may be gifted to serve.

To Model for Students an Engaging Relationship with a Living Lord

We believe that one of the most effective ways to teach something is to demonstrate it. Therefore, our volunteers and staff seek to model for the students what an engaging relationship with the Lord looks like. This is similar to what Paul said when he told the Corinthians, “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.”(1 Corinthians 11:1)

Core Values of Our Ministry

The Word is Central and Foundational

We believe that now, more than ever students need a firm foundation upon which to build their lives. We also believe that the only foundation that will last is God’s Word. We believe that God’s Word is unchanging, unfailing, and completely perfect. It is the only sure guide to get to heaven. It is in the Bible that God reveals himself to his people and it is in the Bible that we learn how we are to respond to Him. Because of this, we believe that God’s word is of central importance in a Christian’s life, and because of this we build our lives and ministry on the Word of God.

   Prayer is Indispensable

In order for students to make a real connection with God, their must be communication between them and Him. This is what prayer is. Without communication a relationship cannot exist. Therefore, we believe that prayer is an indispensable part of the Christian experience.

   Worship is Fundamental

We were created to worship. God didn’t need us in order to find fulfillment for himself. Rather he created us in order to allow us to find our greatest fulfillment as we worship him. So we believe that teaching students to make worship a part of their personal lives as well leading them in worship as a part of the body of Christ is a fundamental element of our ministry.

   Missions and Service are Crucial

We believe that students learn best how to serve others in hands-on situations. So we make it a priority to give students those opportunities to live out their faith, both within the church and in the world. We also are firmly committed to helping fulfill the great commission, because of this we participate in missions as often as possible. In order to give students a more broad experience, we try to give students an opportunity to serve on mission teams both in the USA and abroad.

   Relationships are Vital

Since God deals with us relationally (i.e. as a Father to his child – Romans 8:15; and as a friend – John 15:15), we believe that ministry should be relational. We seek to create an environment where friendships are built and nurtured, and in that environment we try to model the love of Christ. We make it a priority to build solid, encouraging, positive relationships with students. Another important aspect of relational ministry is accountability. We believe that we should help each other by holding each other to the standard we claim. So everyone who says they are a disciple of Christ is held accountable for their choices and actions
